With tryouts just around the corner, the Frederick Freeze has already gained contracts from several local standout players and returning Freeze players. This is the first in many exciting developments that will lead to the Freeze becoming a force in local and national Junior hockey once again.
Zack Pard was the leading scorer for the Washington Nationals Met team and was chosen to the Met league all star team in 2011. Pierce McCaull is the returning team captain of the Freeze and was our leading scorer in 2011. His linemates Casey Donegan and Adam Taylor were both alternate captains in 2011.
In addition young Freeze players such as Shawn Lane and Ian Cleary have resigned for 2012. With a growing list of players registering for tryouts, we expect that this Freeze team will be an exciting and winning team that has its sites set on both league and national playoffs.
Under GM/Coach Derek Comeau, there has is an excitement building in Frederick hockey at both the Junior and Youth levels.Coach Comeau has already secured USHL camp invites for several players from the Freeze organization. Also Derek is now hockey director of the Frederick Fury and both the Freeze and Fury have agreed to work together to make Frederick the power of the Metro hockey market.
