The Frederick Freeze is excited to announce that Freeze GM/Coach Derek Comeau has been chosen by the Frederick Fury of the CBHL to become their new hockey director. GM/Coach Comeau will continue in his position with the Freeze. Derek will be devoting his full time efforts to both organizations.
It has long been the dream of Freeze ownership to have a partnership with the Fury with both organizations striving to build hockey in the Frederick market. With Derek's knowledge, hockey background and numerous connections in our sport, we feel that players will once again want to stay in Frederick to develop their hockey skills. This also allows the Fury to be the only youth organization in the area that has a partnership with a major Junior organization.
Words can not describe our excitement for the future of hockey in the Frederick marketplace. Freeze owners, players and alumni will be available to assit the Fury organization in numerous ways. In addition, we know that the Fury organization will be willing to do the same for the Freeze. Our organizations can join together to become a major force in hockey on both the local and national level.
