FREEZE WIN BATTLE, BUT LOSE WAR AT NATIONALS

2010-03-28

The Freeze Select C team finished a Cinderella 1st season with a 5-4 win over Hampton Roads in OT. The Freeze finished 2-1 in the tournament. However Atlanta and Suffolk also finished 2-1. Due to a goal differential tie breaker, the Freeze season is over.

Once again the Freeze came from behind and defeated Hampton Roads in OT 5-4. Earlier in the tournament the Freeze defeated the CHA regular and post season champion Suffolk Jrs 3-1. However a 6-1 loss to Atlanta left the Freeze with a 4 goal tie breaker differential which they could not overcome.

This was an amazing season for both Freeze teams. The Select C team made National's in their first season. The Premier B team in only 3 years became a conference champion and was rated in the top 15 nationaly virtually all season. The defeats may sting, but the glory of what was accomplished this year will last a lifetime. Congratulations to all!

Tryouts will begin April 16th at Skate Frederick. With a large number of registrations already received, this will be the most competetive tryouts in Freeze history.
